When Should I Submit a Tree Trimming Request?

Nova Scotia is a beautiful place to live in with an outstanding tree canopy. However Nova Scotia Power's main priority is to maintain reliable services and ensure safety, therefore we have to trim and sometimes remove trees near power lines.

Please have the property owner contact Nova Scotia Power directly with their tree trimming request.
Attention: Customer Responsibility
A low-voltage service wire brings electricity from the street power pole through to a metal mast on your house, which belongs to you. Trees around service wires could damage your mast and cause a power interruption to your home. Trimming is your responsibility. Please contact a Nova Scotia Power approved local contractor eligible to work on your private property
